There is another linkage between sand trout and flounder that is never mentioned. They are both heavily targeted by dolphins. Humans are always so eager to blame themselves for any decline in wildlife populations I think we often forget we are not the only predators that exist. I see more and more dolphins every year and our infatuation with them as cute and cuddly makes most forget they are an apex predator. An incredibly effective one. I know first hand they have an affinity for flounder.
